Former MP objects to inclusion of Arunachal villages in MAC
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: Objecting to inclusion of Arunachal Pradesh villages under the jurisdiction of Mishing Autonomous Council (MAC) in Assam, former MP Kiren Rijiju has demanded the Centre to immediately intervene in the issue for necessary rectification of the anomalies.
The inclusion of the villages of Arunachal Pradesh under the proposed jurisdiction of Mishing Autonomous Council (MAC) in Assam has grossly undermined the federal structure of India and blatantly violated the territorial boundary of Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju in a letter to Union Home Affairs Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, said.
“The well settled villages of Arunachal Pradesh are unnecessarily brought under the proposed Mishing Autonomous Districts jurisdiction which is a deliberate act of aggression against the state of Arunachal Pradesh,” the letter said.

“I fail to understand why PFJA is after the work of Talo Potom. Instead of encouraging such an officer, why an intellectual forum is becoming obstruction in the process of land eviction which is a good step taken for the betterment of the coming days,” said the society general secretary Tadar Loma.
If Talo Potom’s portfolio is withdrawn, Capital Complex will suffer. No more government quarters shall be left tomorrow, he further added.
Health camps conducted at Likabali
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: The president Likabali Block Youth Congress (I) Majum Taipodia and his team organized a mega health camp at Hime on September 28 and at Kangku on September 29.
More than 1000 people participated in it.

Training on labour laws
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: The Abu Apa Tribal Welfare Society (AATWS) organized training and awareness programme on various labour laws for women workers at community hall, Seijosa on September 27 and at Bhalukpong on September 28.
Both the venues witnessed huge participation. Advocate, Guahati High Court Nazrul Haqqe was the resource person at Seijosa while District Labour Officer T Jerang was the resource person at Bhallukpong. All out efforts were made by the resource persons to clear the doubts and confusion of the women participants.

Spl. summary revision of electoral roll starts today
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: Special Summary Revision of the photo electoral rolls with January 1, 2014 as qualifying date will begin in Arunachal Pradesh from tomorrow (1st October) as per the order of the Election Commission of India. This summary revision is quite significant as both the parliamentary and the state assembly elections are due in the next year.
Informing that the objective of this revision is to create error-
While reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Shabha/Local bodies and RWA meeting etc and verification of names beginning from Oct 8 and continue up to Oct 11, the special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objection have been fixed on Oct 12 and 13 and disposal of claims and objections by November 20. While database updating, preparation and printing of supplementary list will be done from November 21 to December 31 the final publication of electoral rolls is on January 6, 2014.
The CEO further informed that altogether 6O electoral registration officers (EROs) under the supervision of 16 district election officers will take the responsibility to carry out this summary revision in the state. Informing that Booth level officers (BLOs) will be involved in publication of draft publication of electoral rolls, distribution and collection of forms of voters’ registration, deletion of duplicate, dead and migrated voters under 2159 polling stations, Kumar further informed that thirteen State Level Master Trainers (SLMTs) were trained in Delhi, who further trained more than 50 Assembly Level Master Trainers (ALMTs) in the ATI, Naharlagun.

With the help of this software 29,457 numbers of duplicate electors have been detected and the list of duplicate electors have been sent to all the DEOs for physical verification through BLOs. More than 16, 000 duplicate voters have been verified so far and 5000 voters have been deleted from electoral rolls.

CM calls for mechanism to meet up power crisis
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: Taking serious note on repeated power failure in various districts
including the capital complex, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today convened a high-

SUMA demands arrest of NPF leaders in Arunachal
ITANAGAR, Sept 30: Students Union Movement of Arunachal (SUMA) has demanded the Arunachal Pradesh DGP to immediately arrest Jodik Tali, president of Naga People’s Front (NPF), Arunachal Pradesh unit.
Informing that the so called president of the NPF unit is conducting his activities from Guwahati for promotion of the political party in Arunachal Pradesh, SUMA claimed that youths of the state are being engaged for promotion of the political party in the state through threat and allurement.

AYA demands exemplary punishment to rapists

CHANGLANG, Sept 30: The sensitization cum training programme for PRI members to create awareness on various centrally sponsored flagship programme was held Changlang on Sept 29 and 30. He explained with power point presentation on National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Nirmal Bharat Abhyan NBA and other PHED connected flagship programmes and advised to take up effective measures on conservation of water by planting more trees in and around the catchment area of the water source.
The Deputy Commissioner Changlang, Chanchal Yadav, said it is a unique and first of its kind ever organized in district HQ. so the PRI member and officers directly involved performing the RD Schemes and programmes to make them thorough on the rules and as per the guide lines with the aims to implement the various Rural Schemes smoothly and effectively. This is in regards to news item about 6 (six) point demand laid by apex contractor’s body of state, All Arunchal Pradesh contractors welfare Association (AACWA) for benefits of local contractors in Arunachal Pradesh. The All Arunachal Pradesh BSNL Civil contractor welfare association (AAPBSNLCCWA) supports and urges state govt, to consider the demands put forward by them. Association feels that since Arunachal is land of tribal and its contractors are tribal people, there is no question of deduction of 2% as income tax during works related to civil items.
Moreover, association also suggests that if govt, of neighboring state Assam can adopt policy for welfare of tribal contractors by adopting 1% Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) during any kind tender/quotation than why our people friend govt, cannot adopt the same policy.

Through your esteemed daily; I would like to make an appeal to the government and police department especially to give their best effort to nab the groups /person receiving stolen bikes from Arunachal. It is believed that lifted bikes are mostly sold either in Assam or in the interior districts of our state at a low price. Later these motorcycles are sold at a much higher price to customers of different neighbouring NE states. With reference to the news published on 27th Sept., I congratulate the police deptt for nabbing some of the bike lifters. In the past years too they have been able to catch many bike lifters. What I believe is that our police department is not weak enough to let go off such opportunities to act intelligently and catch such people before it get worse. I am sure that even a short interrogation with the thieves can provide a lot of clues about the working ground of such receivers. The present situation is so bad that almost every house in the neighbourhood seems to have become victim of bike thefts. Not every family is wealthy enough to make masonry walls/fencing around their houses but yes! One can atleast make small garages as a measure of protection. This is a message to the government that today you cannot handle bike lifters; tomorrow there will be auto thefts and many more. Whom will the public trust or have faith to run a fast growing state in the future. Out here in Jalgaon City, Maharashtra, bike thefts seldom occur. Learn from them.

Most species at greatest risk from climate change are not currently conservation priorities, finds an IUCN study that introduces a pioneering method to assess the vulnerability of species to climate change. The paper published is one of the biggest studies of its kind, assessing all of the world's birds, amphibians and corals. It draws on the work of more than 100 scientists over a period of five years.
Up to 83 per cent of birds, 66 per cent of amphibians and 70 per cent of corals that were identified as highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change are not currently considered threatened with extinction on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. They are therefore unlikely to be receiving focused conservation attention, according to the study.
Up to nine percent of all birds, 15 per cent of all amphibians and nine percent of all corals that were found to be highly vulnerable to climate change are already threatened with extinction. These species are threatened by unsustainable logging and agricultural expansion but also need urgent conservation action in the face of climate change, according to the authors.
The study's novel approach looks at the unique biological and ecological characteristics that make species more or less sensitive or adaptable to climate change.
Conventional methods have focussed largely on measuring the amount of change to which species are likely to be exposed. IUCN will use the approach and results to ensure The IUCN Red List continues to provide the best possible assessments of extinction risk, including due to climate change.
